This month in music class, all grades are learning about patriotic music. First grade is learning, "You're a Grand Old Flag". One of the activities was a cross-curricular activity where students had to help circle their Need-to-Know and Snap words. They learned that these words are so important because without them our song doesn't make any sense! #brillionlions

On Friday, October 7th, fourth grade students will be participating in a walkathon to create awareness for cancer. According to the American Cancer Society, it is estimated that there will be 1,918,030 new cases in 2022 alone - that’s about 5,255 new cases a day! Our students want to take a stand against cancer. They will have 30 minutes to complete as many laps around the track as possible. The money raised will go to the nonprofit organization, Ribbon of Hope, in De Pere. If you are interested in sponsoring a student in this event, please email Tracy Hause (thause@brillionsd.org), and you will be assigned to a fourth grader who is in need of a sponsor. You can choose to either donate a flat fee or a specific amount per lap. All money is due by Friday, October 14th. Checks will need to be made out to the Ribbon of Hope Foundation. Thank you for considering the opportunity to support our students in this event. #brillionlions
