Brillion Elementary Fifth Graders would like to thank everyone who has contributed to their fundraiser. They have collected 32 bags of 25 shoes. If you do the math, that is 800 pairs of shoes!!! However, we have a ways to go to meet our goal of 100 bags of shoes!! Please spread the word to friends and family about our fundraiser!!! Collections bins are located in the front entrance, in the back by the doors to the middle school gym, and around the school. We are collecting until April 21st!! #brillionlions

The outcome of the referendum on April 4 will undoubtedly shape the future direction of our proud school district. That is why we are strongly encouraging our stakeholders to get out and vote to make sure their respective voice is heard. Thank you and GO BIG RED!

WHAT IS AT RISK IF THE REFERENDUM DOES NOT PASS? We have a lot of pride in our staff, the programs that we offer, and our facilities, but they will undoubtedly all be impacted in some way if the referendum does not pass. Simply put, this operational referendum is not for anything "new". The District is asking for the referendum so that we can keep what we currently have intact. #BrillionLions #PleaseVote

DID YOU KNOW that just shy of 7 of every 10 public school districts have already passed an operational referendum since 1992? (Those are the Districts colored in blue.) Due to the lack of spendable funding from the state over the last two years, Brillion is now being joined by 16 other school districts (all in white) that are looking to pass an operational referendum for the very first time ever. If you have any questions in regard to this information please feel comfortable contacting Superintendent Corey Baumgartner via email at cbaumgartner@brillonsd.org or by phone at 920-756-2368 x.4101. #BrillionLions #PleaseVote

Referendum History
IS THE BRILLION PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT ALONE IN NEEDING AN OPERATIONAL REFERENDUM? NO. In fact, there was a TOTAL of 92 operational referendum questions posed during the general elections in April and November of 2022. (81.52% passed) In fact, Brillion will be joined on April 4th by 52 other public school districts that are also seeking to pass an operational referendum that election day. If you have any questions in regard to this information please feel comfortable contacting Superintendent Corey Baumgartner via email at cbaumgartner@brillonsd.org or by phone at 920-756-2368 x.4101. You could also consider joining us at our last informational meeting on TONIGHT @ 6:00 pm located within the Brillion Elementary/Middle School Commons. #BrillionLions #PleaseVote

2022 Referendums in WI
WHAT IS THE HISTORY OF THE MILL RATE FOR THE BRILLION PUBLIC SCHOOL DISTRICT? Since the year 2000, the average mill rate per $1,000 of fair market property value has been $9.61. The highest-ever mill rate was in the 2014-15 school year when it was set at $10.79. WHAT WAS THE LOWEST MILL RATE FOR BPS? It is $7.51, which is what was set for this current school year. The second lowest was $8.55 back in 2006-07. One can quickly see that if the referendum were to be approved that even in year three the mill rate of $8.45 would still be lower than the current second-lowest amount the District has seen. If you have any questions in regard to this information please feel comfortable contacting Superintendent Corey Baumgartner via email at cbaumgartner@brillonsd.org or by phone at 920-756-2368 x.4101. DID YOU KNOW that the dollar amounts listed within the referendum question to be decided on April 4th would only be fully needed from our taxpayers in a WORST-CASE SCENARIO? As we await the eventual approval of the next state biennium budget we feel it is important for folks to know that the more additional aid that the District would receive from the State, the less we would need from our local taxpayers. THE DISTRICT IS COMMITTED TO ONLY LEVYING UP TO THE AMOUNT THAT IS NEEDED TO CLOSE THE BUDGET DEFICITS. (e.g. Even though we would be able to levy for up to an additional $815,000 in 2023-24, if the referendum were to be approved, if we find that we only need $695,000 then that is all the District would propose we levy up to at our Annual Meeting in October where the total levy and mill rate is set) If you have any questions about the referendum that you would like answered in person, then please consider joining us at our last informational meeting on Thursday, March 30 @ 6:00 pm located within the Brillion Elementary/Middle School Commons. #BrillionLions

The elementary "March Madness" held last Friday is a fun basketball game between the students and teachers. The teachers did play with some disadvantages such as potholders over their hands or having a hand tied behind their back. 😮🏀#brillionlions

We are exactly one week away from election day on April 4th when our District referendum will be on the back side of the ballot for most of our residents who live within the boundaries of the Brillion Public School District. So far we have held 24 different informational sessions offered to the whole community, civic groups, booster clubs, etc., and have only one left which is also open to the entire public on Thursday, March 30th at 6:00 pm in the Brillion Elementary/Middle School Commons. If you have not been able to attend any of those sessions, here is the link to a short and less than 4-minute video that covers the basics. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kjvwg2S6Tns Please take the time to watch the video and share it with anyone else that you know who may appreciate receiving the information presented. Thank you and GO BIG RED!
