This week in music, students are building musical sandwiches! Students practiced the skill of listening to a piece of music (this week, Patriotic music) and analyzing the "texture": the sound source (ex: voices, instruments, etc). Then they took turns choosing from the list to create the music sandwich that accurately represents the piece. Fun was had by all! #brillionlions

9/18 School Closing UPDATE:
Earlier today a message was sent to all of our families informing them that there would be no school today due to the fact that early this morning the District received notification of a threat that was sent online and specifically mentioned one of our school buildings.
Given the timing of when the threat was received the decision to close our school buildings was made to keep the safety of our students and staff the main priority.
The Brillion Police Department along with the assistance of the Calumet County Sheriff's Department have been diligently investigating this matter.
The police have already been able to determine the juvenile individual responsible and that the threat itself was not credible through their investigation.
Please know that the District will be advocating that the individual responsible be held accountable for their actions to the fullest extent.
In addition, this matter WAS NOT related to the alleged threat that was reported at the middle school this past Friday.
We know that in districts across our country that copycat threats often follow events such as this.
We ask that parents please talk with their children about the seriousness of making threats and the harsh consequences those who make threats will face once identified.
Since this is now a legal case we cannot release any additional information.
We are confident that our schools are safe and we look forward to seeing our students and staff return tomorrow morning as normally scheduled.
Sincerely,
Corey Baumgartner, Superintendent
