Summer Camp learned how to make different types of shelters on Monday which included wood/stick lean-to's, tipi, lean-to, and an A-Frame at the BNC. #brillionlions
Students in the Extended Care Program enjoyed learning about fishing from Greg Karch, founder of Learn 2 Fish With Us, Inc. a not-for-profit company. Mr. Karch is a certified Angler Educator and Instructor. During the "Fishing Basics Seminar", the topics presented were:
--Safety while fishing,
--Review spin cast and spinning fishing combos,
--How to cast accurately,
--How to tie a Clinch and Palomar knot,
--Parts of fish,
--Fish identification,
-- Live and artificial bait, and more.
At learning stations, students practiced casting, tying knots, learned about rod and reel combos, and colored their favorite fish species. At the end of the program, students were given a t-shirt and their very own rod and reel combo! #brillionlions

Some students spent the last day of summer school at Split Happens Lanes in Brillion. Some learned how to bowl and others practiced their skills! We had a lot of excitement with a couple of strikes and spares! They had great teamwork and gave each other a lot of encouragement! #brillionlions

As a service learning project, the Extended School Summer Camp program made cards for veterans. Children discussed individuals who have served, veterans who have fought for America, and the historical monuments in our country honoring veterans. These cards will be given to Veterans on the Old Glory Honor Flight for Mail Call. Mail Call is a special surprise for all our veterans who fly on an Old Glory Honor Flight mission! The flight will take place this September. #brillionlions
