Happy May Day! I was lucky to receive a May Day Basket from our wonderful Brillion Elementary 4K Students. Other baskets were delivered to local businesses, put on the door handles of houses in the neighborhood, and given to individuals Mrs. Geiger met. Those individuals expressed appreciation and gratitude. A lovely poem was written on a card as was the history behind the tradition of May Day Baskets.
"April showers bring May flowers
And what do these May flowers bring?
Happy thoughts and sunshine smiles
And wishes for a wonderful Spring!"
Thank you to the Brillion Elementary 4K classes. You made my day! #brillionlions

Third Graders are learning about the accessibility to water around the world. We’ve learned that many other countries do not have reliable access to safe, clean water. Some even have to commute lengthy distances, carrying heavy water containers, to have water in their house. Students experienced carrying buckets of varying amounts of water, trying not to have it splash around, in relay with their peers. Some students stated the activity was interesting, tiring, and eye-opening to the lives of others around the world. #brillionlions

Congratulations to the HS Student Writers published in the EWC (Eastern WI Conference) literary magazine "The Menagerie." This annual publication selects the best writers in the conference to have their work published. The students and their advisor, Ms. Gretchen Mineau, celebrated with a banquet at Roncalli this past week. #brillionlions

Parenting Tip of the Week:
One of the best ways to deal with anxiety in children is to help them confront worries rather than avoid the things that cause them. Parents can also talk with kids about why they are anxious and help them make plans for how to deal with anxiety as it comes up (like taking deep breaths and using positive self-talk).
